Sunday night the Miami Heat defeated the San Antonio Spurs 88 to 86. This time when the Heat and the Spurs went head to head, it was the Heat letting some of its players off the hook. Lebron James, Dwyane Wade, and Mario Chalmers sat out with minor injuries. Back in November, the Spurs were fined heavily for letting Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Danny Green sit the game out without notifying the NBA. The Heat followed the rules, but it’s no secret that coach Erik Spoelstra will be resting his star players to be ready for the playoffs.
King James may have been out, but Chris Bosh ruled Sunday’s game, scoring 23 points, including a stunning 3-point shot with only 1.9 seconds on the clock for the win.
Miami holds the top spot as the playoffs get close. The Heat have 9 games until the playoffs, the second season, and it’s a sure thing that they will be well rested and ready to win.
